For over a decade, Elephant Sessions have made instrumental music that filled dance tents from Glastonbury to Byron Bay. On ‘This Place of Ours’, their fifth studio album, they push their sound further than ever, including hugely exciting collaborations with some of Scotland’s most talked about new voices. If somehow you don’t know them yet, you’re about to.

Beluga Lagoon, Alice Faye and Hamish Hutcheson each bring vocals to the record, the biggest shift in the band’s sound since they started. Voices woven deep in between hooky melodies, wide synths, evocative strings and the low-end rhythm that defined them.

The album is a statement of where Scottish inspired electronic music is heading and where it comes from. Written and recorded in Scotland, ‘This Place of Ours’ isn’t about scenery, it’s an amalgamation of the places, the people, the nights out and long drives that shaped the band.

It lands off the back of the busiest period in the band’s history, a huge online viral surge and sold out shows across the globe. Ten plus years in, Elephant Sessions sound less like a folk band experimenting with electronics and more like an electronic act that happens to carry the Highlands with it everywhere it goes.
