We kick off at the start of 2020 with our HUGE competition for one lucky person to win a pair of tickets to every gig at our venue for an entire year. Once you sign up to the mailer, we will be sending out instructions on how you can win this special prize and also other tickets to our line up of shows below.

As if that wasn’t enough, we have merchandise bundles, free drinks, vinyls and more to give away so make sure you are following on our socials as well.

Islington Assembly Hall was first opened in 1929 and quickly became the beating heart of the Islington community, hosting everything from tea dances and scout meetings, to boxing and film clubs! It stayed like this for many years but in 1980 the decision was made to close the doors of the venue. It was then used as a glorified storage cupboard (can you believe it?!) for 30 years until one bright person saw the potential to make something really special happen here. The venue was renovated and kept most of its original features and was able to reopen again in 2010.

Since the re-opening, the venue has seen the likes of Ed Sheeran, Foo Fighters, Skepta, Jessie Ware, Laura Mvula,  Fall Out Boy, Rag ‘N’ Bone Man, Katy B, Floating Points and Yxng Bane.

1. Islington Assembly Hall is a Grade II listed building.
2. Sam Smith performed here back before he hit super stardom and was MTV’s one to watch.
3. The venue was built in 1929 – making it 90 years old.
4. The venue was closed in 1980 and used as a storage space for 30 years.
5. Our first sold out show was when the Foo Fighters came as the Holy Sh*ts back in 2013.
6. Ray and Dave Davies from The Kinks put aside their differences for one great performance back in 2015.
7. We have the nicest venue toilets in London (we’ve won an award to prove it!).

Los Campesinos!

What's greater than macabre indie pop on Valentine’s Day? Mutual celebration of the fact, with hundreds of other people in a beautiful historic hall, that's what! Come and celebrate V-Day (and then some) with Los Campesinos! who will be spotlighting their seminal record, ‘Romance Is Boring’ in all of its glory for the record’s tenth anniversary across February 14th and 15th.

Once collective reminiscing of the past has ceased, lusty memories have subsided and bodies have been wiped down, the beloved indie band will play their latest creations that will drive them further forward as indie mainstays into the new decade. Tickets have completely sold out for this particular love in so make sure you are signed up to our mailer and following us on socials to see how you can WIN tickets.

Tickets are sold out but you can sign up for the waiting list on DICE to try to nab some resold tickets.

Pinegrove

After some time off for reflection, Pinegrove return with an intense new release in their latest track, Marigold and forthcoming record set for release in early 2020. Pinegrove are champions of the modern emo genre, dipping into Americana and indie folk as musical influences with unhinged and sentimental lyricism. Their three album strong back catalogue is diverse and rewards equally on decent speakers and performed live and raw.
