Maddie & Tae
Maddie Marlow and Tae Dye return following their Country to Country weekend performances at the O2 Arena earlier this year. The duo have recently released revenge song ‘Sierra’, from their debut album ‘Start Here’, which is a true story about how Maddie was bullied in her senior year, whilst pursuing her singing career.
She recently told Rolling Stone about “Sierra” (her real name, different spelling) who instigated the bullying. “She and her friends would say I wasn’t good enough, wasn’t pretty enough, would never make it in country music. Very vicious,” recalls Marlow. “At the time I thought, ‘Oh my gosh. It’s the end of the world. I’m never gonna live past this,’” Marlow adds. “And that’s why we wrote that song, because I personally had to heal from it. I had to know that it’s gonna be okay. Like, someone does not define your self-worth.”
