I regret to inform you that i must withdraw from my fall tour. It is not financially possible for me to fund another tour this year. I am so appreciative of your continued support, and look forward to touring again once the new record is released in 2018
Los Angeles artist Kadhja Bonet has announced her second tour of the UK in October and November, alongside select European headline and festival dates this summer.
Bonet released her debut mini-album The Visitor on Fat Possum/Fresh Selects to widespread critical acclaim. The last few months have seen her play sold-out debut UK headline shows, perform at the BBC 6 Music Festival in Glasgow and go on the station’s playlist, perform a BBC Radio 2 session for Jamie Cullum, as well as debut on national TV in France.
The forthcoming set of dates, including a headline show at London’s Islington Assembly Hall on 1 November, offer an opportunity to experience Bonet’s mesmerising and genre-defying concoction of futuristic soul, jazz, psychedelia and folk, in a performance that effortlessly transports the spellbinding and otherworldly nature of her records to stage.
Kadhja Bonet’s debut mini-album The Visitor has met with praise from publications including The Sunday Times, The Guardian (who also included her in their Future 50), Pitchfork, NPR, The Wire Solange’s Saint Heron and others. At radio it has picked up support from Lauren Laverne, Mary Anne Hobbs, Giles Peterson, Don Letts and others.
The eight-song collection is a transcendent introduction to Kadhja’s velvety voice, majestic arrangements, and a ubiquitous air of wondrous magical realism, inviting us into a world not wholly our own, where past and future meet in a parallel, yet far lovelier, present.
