Cloudbusting perform The Kick Inside 40th Anniversary Concert
The Kick Inside, released February 17th 1978, was the debut album that announced to the world the genius of Kate Bush.
Forty years later to the day, Cloudbusting will be performing The Kick Inside in its entirety at Islington Assembly Hall, recreating the album’s complex arrangements with stunning authenticity with the help of guest musicians and incorporating many visual surprises. If the success of the band’s recent 30th anniversary performance of Hounds Of Love was anything to go by, this unique concert will be an unmissable experience for any Kate Bush fan eager to celebrate the greatest debut album in pop music!
The thirteen self-penned songs touched on subjects such as sexuality, gun-slinging, period pains, the paranormal and darker aspects of human relationships never before visited in popular music. Kate’s voice was as inventive and intriguing as anything we’d ever heard: author Douglas Adams was so inspired by its other-wordly quality that he wrote ‘The Hitch-Hiker’s Guide to the Universe’ with the album’s most famous single Wuthering Heights on continuous repeat. The world fell under Kate’s spell and a legion of fans was born.
Join the internationally-acclaimed Cloudbusting on this special night, which will also feature a full set of hits and classics from the subsequent 40 years of Kate’s remarkable career!
